A Case Report of Congenital Hemangiopericytoma of Small Bowel

Abstract

|
Hemangiopericytoma is a rare but ubiquitous mesenchymal tumor first described by Stout and Murray in 1942. It arises from the pericyte of Zimmerman, the rudimentary contractile cells found adjacent to the capillary wall throughlut the body. The
diagnosis can be made only by histologic examination and the treatment mainly comprises wide surgical excision.
This paper presents one case of congenital hemangiopericytoma in small intestine experienced at St. Paul's hospital of Seoul.
